DAMFIX Bio™ helps control algae growth and minimises unpleasant odours associated with stagnant or nutrient-rich water.
DAMFIX Bio™ is essentially a concentrated liquid “probiotic” designed to maintain the biological health of water. This product consists of a specialised blend of beneficial bacteria and fungi that act as nature’s cleaning crew by aggressively breaking down organic waste.
Once added to a dam, pond, or even a septic system, these microbes consume the excess nutrients, such as nitrogen and phosphorus, that fuel the growth of invasive algae and duckweed, while simultaneously digesting the layers of sludge and “muck” that accumulate at the bottom. The result is a more balanced ecosystem characterised by clearer water, reduced odors, and the efficient decomposition of organic solids like fish waste or decaying plant matter.
The solution works best when used in conjunction with water movement, such as an aerator. The microorganisms establish themselves within the water system. With a 4 – 6 week maintenance plan, this biological process contributes to improved oxygen balance, reduced sediment build-up, and a cleaner, more stable aquatic environment. DAMFIX Bio™ helps control algae growth and minimises unpleasant odours associated with stagnant or nutrient-rich water. It is particularly useful in dams affected by algae blooms, organic overload, or long-term water quality challenges.
DAMFIX Bio™ is environmentally responsible and designed for safe application in farm dams, estate dams, golf course dams, game reserves, oxidation ponds, septic systems, and other water treatment environments. It supports sustainable water management by enhancing natural biological processes rather than relying on harsh chemical treatments.
When used as part of a broader water management strategy, DAMFIX Bio™ helps maintain healthier dams, better water usability, and improved environmental conditions. It complements sealing solutions by addressing water quality, ensuring that the ecosystem balance is considered in comprehensive dam care.
The bacterial cultures digest proteins, fats, oils and organic debris in the water, reducing nutrient availability and stabilising water quality.
